Luciano's at the Millstone, formally 'The Millstone', has finally had the sympathetic
refurbishment it so dearly required. Luciano Fortuna
has transformed the interior of what was a dating Mediterranean inspired restaurant
into a contemporary upmarket bar and fine dining restaurant.
The stunningly refurbished bar area complete with sumptuous brown leather seating
and lit with velvet covered and porcelain fretwork lamp shades, create a relaxing
space. The 26 foot long glistening black granite bar and illuminated glass back
bar has a vast choice of spirits , wines, champagnes , guest beers and cocktails
and is an amazing transformation. Add to this, open fires in winter and an impressive
self playing black baby grand in the reception area, this truly is a most elegant,
comfortable , welcoming venue.
In the dining area, a combination of cream porcelain floor tiles and dark French
polished wooden floor boards, light coloured mirrored walls and depth from dark
wood period panelling and a cast iron fireplace along with dimmed wall and candle
light and crisp white table linen, create warmth and intimacy.
Contemporary fresh flowers fill both the reception areas and the dining area.
Luciano first came to the UK 9 years ago from beautiful Sicily for work experience
and to learn English, after compulsory and later by choice, time spent in the Italian
Military.
He soon picked up the language and gained credibility working in the hospitality
industry. Working as a chef and later as a Manager at the Midland Hotel in Manchester
he realised this was his passion and to be his future. read
